Day 15

Dean and Sam looking over False Bay
Happy Sunday, start of Week 3. So, no change in weight to day, which is not cool, as I thought I did really well with so low carbs and low calories. I am convinced my body is fighting back, and rebelling against the new regime.

16 th Jan – Weight 94.3

Happy Sunday, start of Week 3. So, no change in weight to day, which is not cool, as I thought I did
really well with so low carbs and low calories. I am convinced my body is fighting back, and rebelling
against the new regime.

Inspiration for today: “We should start referring “AGE” as “LEVELS” because saying I am at
level 54 is much more badass than just being an old person”.

I love these random ideas that Pinterest throws at me, I swear the app reads my mind. Yes, this
concept makes me feel years younger. It makes me feel more positive, and want to carry on with the
fight.

It was a super-lazy day. I had 100 ideas in my head, but could not commit to paper. Well I say
paper, but its all typing now, I have not actually written anything, apart from work checklists, for
years. My fingers and arms get the most amazing workouts from all the bashing of the keyboard –
that should be listed as a proper exercise so it can count in the daily exercise tracker.
I remember saying how important it is to write things down. Well this is so very true, but so hard. If
you miss a few days, then your mind goes blank, and you really have to think hard to capture what
you have eaten. I know that if I do not track things, I actually will forget I am on diet – I mean really,
its so easy to reach out for something, for example have an extra slice of low GI bread – if you don’t
see the carbs, in writing, then they clearly do not exist. It’s like cake eaten at the office has no
calories.

On the diet side today, Bacon and Eggs for breakfast. I must point out that for years and years I
would have a sandwich of bacon and eggs – super yummy. So, it is a real win for me to quit the
bread with this meal. It was hard to do, but I am getting into it. The thing is, that immediately after
eating this, I still feel hungry. They say that you should wait 20 minutes after eating, before having
something else. Who are they kidding, 20 minutes is forever. So, I quickly had some salami sticks
(no carbs at least) to make me feel fuller. (Mmmm yeah right). But, then, I also had a banana. I may
as well as had the bread, and not the banana. I am told that I should not eat bananas, as carb count
of a banana is high, but its packed full of vitamins and things, so I feel its good for me.

Anyway, lunch was another ploughman’s salad thing, and supper joy of joys was sausages being
chipolatas and boerewors with baby spinach and Carb Clever mayonnaise.

The downfall today was that it was very hot, and I had to have ice cream (the carb clever kind) but,
portion control is not my strongest suit, so I had 2 tubs, which sort of not a good idea, as one tub has
9g carbs, which is OK, but 2 is then 18g carbs, which if you add the banana I had earlier, the carb
intake today was pushed really high. Maybe my body is trying to compensate for the low carb intake
from Friday and Saturday? It’s a theory of mine. I will track this for interest sake.

On a Sunday, I must rest, catch up on all the sleep I missed, so not much else accomplished on the
diet research side. Oh, I forgot to mention, I got into cashew nuts, which are not great for the calorie
count, even though they tell you cashew nuts are very good for you.

Daily summary: Carbs: 67 g and 1943 calories. (OK on carbs, but high on calories – blame those
cashews)
Daily Loss 0kg / Weekly Loss 1.1 kg / Total Loss 5.7kg
